This post is for all the fellow flat-haired ladies and gents out there! A little bit of background on my hair.. I’ve always had long, lifeless hair that tends to go flat at the roots, and only holds a style when it has been covered in products. Because of this I was so excited to be introduced to the John Frieda Luxurious Volume range, and have been trying this 7 day volume hair routine for the last week. Here’s how I got on..
Let’s start with the 7 Day Volume Shampoo*. As shampoos go this is certainly a lovely one as it cleanses without stripping the hair and is really easy to use as it lathers up well. I don’t tend to concentrate too much on shampoo as I find I get the best results from treatments and leave-in conditioners, but I’ll definitely keep using this shampoo as I think it’s a good ‘un.
The 7 Day Volume Conditioner* has also made its way into my haircare routine as it does a good job of detangling my extremely knotty hair and leaving it feeling nice and soft after drying. It’s hard to say how volumising the shampoo and conditioner are on their own as I’ve been using them in conjunction with the in-shower treatment from the range, but I’ll be sure to test this out and let you know.
Speaking of the treatment, it really is the star of the show when it comes to the 7 Day Volume range. The 7 Day In-Shower Treatment* is a semi-permanent volumising treatment that claims to thicken the individual fibres of your hair, and I would definitely agree that it’s volumising as my hair has had a lot more oomph over the last week or so. All you need to do is apply a few pumps of this treatment all over damp hair after using shampoo and conditioner, and then leave it for a few minutes to work its magic. What I’m left with is fuller looking hair that’s lifted at the roots, and has a lot more texture which is a lovely bonus for styling. It’s recommended that you use this treatment every 2-3 washes and it’s safe to say that I’m a massive fan already!
